Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
TL;DR: Tide Protocol is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data, don't track you across the web, and never sell your information. Blockchain transactions are public by nature.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Tide Protocol ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website, interface, and smart contracts (collectively, the "Protocol").
We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing a decentralized, non-custodial protocol experience.
2. Information We DON'T Collect
Unlike traditional services, we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email, phone number, or personal identifiers
- KYC/AML information
- Account credentials or passwords (we don't have accounts)
- Payment card or bank information
- Social security or government ID numbers
We have no user database. There's nothing to hack, leak, or sell.
3. Information We May Collect
We may collect limited, non-identifying information:
3.1 Wallet Addresses
When you connect your wallet, we see your public wallet address. This is necessary for the Protocol to function. Wallet addresses are pseudonymous and publicly visible on the Sui blockchain regardless of our involvement.
3.2 Transaction Data
All transactions (deposits, claims, trades, loans) are recorded on the public Sui blockchain. We may index this public data to display it in the interface. This is public information that anyone can access.
3.3 Usage Analytics (Optional)
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the interface is used. This may include:
- Pages visited (without personal identifiers)
- General geographic region (country level)
- Browser type and device category
- Referral source
We do NOT use invasive tracking, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking.
3.4 Technical Logs
Our servers may temporarily log IP addresses and request data for security and debugging purposes. These logs are automatically deleted after a short retention period.
4. How We Use Information
We use collected information only to:
- Display your wallet's assets, transactions, and rewards
- Facilitate interactions with the smart contracts
- Improve the interface and user experience
- Detect and prevent abuse or attacks
- Comply with legal obligations if required
5. Information Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your information. We may share information only:
- On-chain: Transaction data is inherently public on Sui
- Service providers: Infrastructure providers who help operate the interface (under confidentiality)
- Legal compliance: If required by law or valid legal process
- Safety: To prevent harm or investigate abuse
6. Blockchain Transparency
Important: Blockchain transactions are public and permanent. When you interact with Tide Protocol smart contracts:
- Your wallet address is visible to everyone
- Transaction amounts and times are public
- Your SupporterPass holdings are publicly visible
- Loan activity and repayments are public
This is a fundamental property of blockchain technology, not something we control. If you require privacy, consider using a fresh wallet address.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We may use:
- Essential cookies: Required for the interface to function (e.g., wallet connection state)
- Local storage: To remember your preferences (e.g., theme, network selection)
We do NOT use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
8. Third-Party Services
The interface may interact with third-party services:
- Sui blockchain: All transactions are processed on Sui
- Wallet providers: Your wallet app has its own privacy policy
- RPC providers: Blockchain data access providers
- DefiLlama: Protocol statistics and price data
- Hosting providers: Vercel, Cloudflare, or similar
These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
9. Data Retention
We retain collected data only as long as necessary for the purposes described. Blockchain data is permanent and cannot be deleted.
- Analytics data: Aggregated, no personal identifiers
- Server logs: Deleted within 30 days
- Blockchain data: Permanent (we don't control this)
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Access information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to certain processing
- Data portability
Note: We collect minimal data, so there may be little to access or delete. Blockchain data cannot be deleted due to its immutable nature.
11. Security
We implement reasonable security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all connections
- Regular security audits of smart contracts
- No storage of sensitive personal data
- Access controls for internal systems
However, no system is 100% secure. Use the Protocol at your own risk.
12. Children's Privacy
The Protocol is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us.
13. International Users
The Protocol is accessible globally. By using it, you consent to the transfer and processing of information in jurisdictions where our infrastructure operates.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
